TERMS & CONDITIONS OF SERVICE

Last Updated: 2026 | Care Cargo Express Freight & Live Animal Transport Guidelines

1. Acceptance of Terms

By engaging Care Cargo Express for freight forwarding, logistics management, pet relocation, or cargo services, the shipper and consignee agree to abide by these Terms and Conditions. These terms supersede all previous oral or written agreements.

2. Live Animal & Pet Relocation Terms

All live animal shipments managed by Care Cargo Express strictly adhere to the International Air Transport Association (IATA) Live Animals Regulations (LAR) and International Pet and Animal Transportation Association (IPATA) standards.

  • Veterinary Compliance: The shipper is responsible for providing valid health certificates, ISO microchip documentation, rabies titer test results, and required import/export permits prior to departure.
  • Crate Specifications: Pets must travel in IATA-approved crates sized appropriately to allow the animal to turn around, stand upright, and lie down comfortably.
  • Weather & Temperature Holds: Care Cargo Express reserves the right to reschedule or delay pet travel if ambient temperatures at any transit point exceed safe thermal limits (above 85°F/29°C or below 45°F/7°C).
  • Emergency Medical Care: In the event of a medical emergency during transit, Care Cargo Express is authorized to seek immediate veterinary care on behalf of the owner at the owner's expense.

3. Cargo & Transit Insurance Policy

Care Cargo Express provides optional and declared-value insurance coverage to protect shipments against damage, loss, or unforeseen transit risks.

  • Standard Carrier Liability: Carrier liability without declared-value insurance is limited in accordance with the Warsaw Convention, Montreal Convention, or applicable local maritime law.
  • Full Value Protection: Shippers may elect to purchase All-Risk Cargo or Live Animal Transit Insurance by declaring the full commercial or appraisal value at booking.
  • Exclusions: Insurance does not cover delays caused by customs impoundment, force majeure events, incomplete owner-supplied documentation, or pre-existing medical conditions in live animals.
  • Claims Process: Any damage or loss claims must be submitted in writing with photographic proof within 7 business days of delivery.

4. Customs, Import Duties & Regulatory Compliance

Shippers are responsible for ensuring all cargo contents, paperwork, and declared items strictly comply with international import/export laws and customs policies.

  • Duties and Taxes: Unless explicitly booked as Delivered Duty Paid (DDP), all destination customs duties, taxes, demurrage, and holding fees are the sole responsibility of the receiver.
  • Prohibited Items: Care Cargo Express will not transport illegal substances, unauthorized hazardous materials, or contraband items prohibited by international law.

5. Payment Terms & Booking Cancellations

Full payment for freight, handling, customs processing, and insurance fees must be cleared prior to dispatch unless credit terms have been formally established.

  • Cancellations: Cancellations made at least 48 hours prior to scheduled pickup receive a full refund minus administrative booking fees.
  • Late Changes: Flight rebookings or schedule modifications requested within 24 hours of departure may incur carrier rebooking fees.

6. Governing Law & Support

These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with international commercial maritime and aviation transport laws. For inquiries regarding policies or claims, please contact our support desk.
